Amita D. Peltz

Charles WorleyAmita Dhaliwal Peltz has practiced law in Western North Carolina for over 10 years. A native of Johnson City, Tennessee, Amita attended The University of Tennessee in Knoxville where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude. Amita obtained her law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

After law school, Amita moved back to the mountains and settled in Asheville, North Carolina in 2003. She is admitted to practice in both the State and Federal Courts, a member in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. She is also an active member of the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys, of which she served as President from 2005—2006.

Amita is active in her community as a volunteer attorney with Mountain Area Volunteer Lawyers with Pisgah Legal Services, she was a founding member of the Highlands Circle group of the United Way of Asheville, and she also served on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Western North Carolina from 2007—2012. She is currently a committee member for OpenDoors of Asheville.

She enjoys hiking, biking, fishing, and photographing the beautiful outdoors of Western North Carolina with her family.
